The tequila segment is exploding and will pass whiskey and vodka segments overall.
Tequila has a globally protected Denomination of Origin. This restricts the chain of production thereby ensuring quality and control. It also standardizes production agreements that are required by the governing agency between distillery and brand owners. ️
Alcohol is highly regulated in the U.S. — the use of three tier system exists in many states. These restrictions allow for market barriers to reduce & restrict market entry, as well as, the overall number of participants. ️
As the tequila market continues to grow and mature, more & more tequila consumers are looking for a great tequila experience.
There are only 3 methods of production for tequila:
Diffuser: high volume production. Additives must be utilized to re-establish tequila flavor traits.
Autoclave: a common production approach for many brands today, still can require additional manipulation to offset a more acrid and bitter result.
Stone Ovens: the most authentic and artisanal production method. It yields the most complex & flavorful tequila.
